Cleaning the new big graph screens

I was just checking to see what everybody is cleaning the new big screen units with. I have used the eye glass cleaning kit you can get at the local dollar stores. It says that its for glass and plastic, but I just wanted some other ideas. Im just talking about the spots left after a day of fishing.

We like to put a wax or something on screen to make the spots easier to come off. Otherwise we just use a lens cleaner as you have and a micro fiber towel.

Vinegar & water – @ a 50/50 mix and a micro fiber towel. Keep the mix in a spray bottle and give it a few spritzes. You can get a pack of the towels in the Car Care section of your parts store or at the Wal-Marks for a few bucks. Takes water spots off the boat, too. Good stuff.

Windex w/ vinegar or as Kevin says……….water and vinegar. Use a micro fiber towel.

Lowrance Electronics makes a special cleaning cloth that can be used on all types of graphic screens, GPSs, both automotive and marine; eye glasses. Go to the Lowrance website http://www.lowrance.com Its located under accessories. Ive used one for several years and it does a great job; doesnt scratch the screen. When the cloth gets dirty, wash in very warm to hot water with no detergent or bleach; and its ready to use.

I use the micro fiber cloth to clean, and the Lowrance cloth to polish dry.For cleaner spray, I really like Wilson Fraziers lens cleaner. Go to http://www.itainttv.comYeah, that Wilsons website—-but the spray is good stuff.Mike Whitten

I was told years ago to use a Very light soapy water mixture, i mean maybe 2 or 3 drops of dawn with like 10cups of water, soft cloth is a must. Waxing like BCB said is a MUST, use a high quality Carnuba wax,Meguiars or Mothers can be bought easily. Usually if its not too hard of water spots on the screen good ole water works great, but ive always had luck with the Dawn, its a old window tint trick, same concept. Your Signature …
