I have been out of the fishing world for a while, getting ready to come back in, my last boat a P Classic. Looking at a PII and a Puma, similar equipment, price close. Both are used, Puma has more warranty left than PII. Looking for some advice/help in making a decision. Thanks in advance. LW

Not sure what the decision is? If garage space is not a concern then the Puma would be my choice with out even thinking about it. But if they have different motors and you are brand loyal to one over the other then there may be a bit more of a decision. But for more boat, more warranty, and more HP at close to the same price range, the decison should be simple.

If you fish smaller waters, rivers or backwaters, the PII may be an advantage for you in maneuverablity and gas mileage. I went from a 20 footer to a 19 footer a few years ago and found + and – to it. I like fishing out of my 19 foot PIV even better than my 20 foot Jaguar. For me, tournaments with 50 mile runs are the only reason to go back to a 20 footer/250HP boat.

Both boats are rigged with Merc engines, my previous boat was a Yamaha. I am not concerned with the change. Thanks.

My fishing is mainly in Illinois with frequent trips to KY lake and some bigger waters. Thanks.

I agree with Mike, I came out of a 18 footer to a Puma, love the boat but if you make short runs to spots (100 yards to 1/4 mile) and fish tight spots the P2 may be a better choice. Of course the 20 footer will ride better in the big stuff. Best of luck.
