I have a 2007 Pantera II which I purchased earlier this year. I was wondering if it is possible to alter the wiring for the compartment lighting so it would only activate when I have the master power or accessory switch turned on? At this point they come on whenever a lid is lifted and the battery is connected. I tried tracing which wire was feeding the power from the battery but could not isolate it. I am sure most folks like the way it is wired but I would prefer to have it on a switch so I could lift comparments for airing out, charging the batteries, or simply have them off during the daylight hours.Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Both of the Cougars Ive had, my 06 and my 09 do the same thing. Only the lights will go out after a few minutes. Not sure how long it is, maybe 5-10 minutes, Ive never timed it. I dont know if thats the way your PII is set up or not.
Thanks for the responses. I guess the time out feature will handle the issue well enough. I was simply hoping for the ability to connect that system to a manual switch. I know even my 2004 Suburban has a switch to eliminate cabin lights that I use quite often, and there is at least the main power switch and an accessory switch on the power panel that could handle that for me allready in the boat. Thanks again.
One thing I noticed is that all the box lights are on the same timer. If I have one box open till the light goes out all the other lights wont turn on till I close the first box.
