This post is to compliment Basscat on the design of the compartments in the boats. Currently I have a 2017 Cougar AE, and I am in the process of getting the battery chargers replaced. Now I know that the failure of the chargers is not a fault of basscat, but of the vendor. The compliment comes from having to pull these two chargers out of the back of the boat. Now I have had other brands, and most of them, when you go to work in that compartment you are literally standing on your head when you try to service anything, be it new batteries, bilge pumps, livewell pumps, etc. I have fought those compartments time and time again and as the saying goes, eventually you will have to do something in there and that is where the knowledge that was placed into those designs shines thru. From the rear lid that is detachable, to the size of the opening, yes life is much better fixing something in here. And the kicker was that both chargers were mounted from the factory with rubber bushings on them to isolate the chargers from vibrations and the bottom holes on the chargers slotted so you can slide the charger onto the bottom bolts to then attach the top. Little things like that do make life better. And for me are appreciated greatly.
