Im looking at the Cooks system for my Cougar FTD. With the foam / “bubble trim” under the lids and configuration of bracing and gas lid shocks Im wondering what options are best for installing these? I could run short screws right into the lid support braces through the foam and get just a few installed that way, or I could mark and cut foam out and use some double stick tape to mount them on any of the flat areas which would open up a lot more options. The “bubble trim” is adhesive backed, and Im assuming its mostly for cosmetics and sealing against water leakage where it contacts the rubber gasket. Im thinking that if I decide to trim out foam, as long as I stay away from the gasket contact areas it should look pretty good and cause no problems. Whatcha think?
