For some of the backwaters and rivers around here I have an older G3 metal rig so I dont scratch up my Eyra. It looks like I need to replace the trolling motor batteries in it and when I looked at them this morning I realized they are different series/sizes. The troller is a MinnKota80 and the batteries are an Everstart 29DC and an Everstart MAXX-24DC. Does this matter and should I replace with the same series/size batteries? From looking at the setup in the bilge area I think the last owner just went with which batteries would fit in it. Thanks. Tony D
Batteries should be of the same size and capacity, and always best to replace all troller batteries at the same time. See if you can make a couple of 27s fit in and you should be fine. 24s dont have much reserve capacity.
Had 2 24 series optima batteries in my puma when i bought it. Figured id give them a try and the first time i killed them in a day i would replace them with some larger ones. That was afew years back and the guy who bought the boat from me is still using them. But if i was buying new ones would definitely go with the 27 series.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
