Corrosion problems

I have a 1991 Pantera II that filled with water in-spite of being covered. It sat for several weeks full of water. Now I have no main power. I have found the 12V wire from the battery, it has a breaker in it, disconnected. My question is where should it be connected?I also have some small wires on the terminal block on the transom with corrosion and some are breaking at the crimp on terminal.Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You have a mess unfortunately, and it sounds like you left the plug in also. The terminal block is where the battery leads go to, from the main battery terminals. You will need new breakers and the newer ones are not as ling lasting as the ones you have. The Service Dept. can help you more on wiring if you need it.Please let it all dry out first and corrosion in the copper wiring is going to significantly effect voltage supply.

Can you tell me which terminal the battery lead connects to? The ground wire from the battery also connects to the terminal strip.How do I contact the Service Dept.?

A trick of the trade. Get a stirofoam cup, place about a fourth of the cup with baking soda and fill up with water. Remove one wire at a time on the terminal block and swish in the water. The baking soda mix will stop all the corrison migrating up in the wire under the insulation. And this will stop any voltage drop caused by the corrison. And all the corrison can be removed by wiping with a paper towel after induced into the baking soda mixture.

Thanks for the tip about using baking soda. Ill do that on all the wires on the terminal block.

Before re-attaching the wires coat them with dielectric grease to stop future problems.
