Just had a new 2017 Mercury 250 Pro XS with torque master gen 2 lower unit put on my 2011 bass cat cougar with 2 power pole blades 10. Thoughts on a fury 4 blade and what pitch?
There is an extensive discussion on this thread down a page or two on the forum that will probably provide the answers you are looking for. Good luck. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/356 … K9AsH-XlOY
Im running a 28 bravo xs 1 and its just a little big but its awesome if i had a 27 i believe it would be the ticket im not sure if the 4 blade fury is all that but id like to find out my boat 1/2 full of fuel full of gear and 2 poeple and live well 3/4 full i get around 77mph at 5850
With a similar setup on a 2014 Cougar FTD with 250 Pro Xs, 2 10ft blades and 4 batteries, I found that the best prop tried so far was a 25 Fury. The 26 was a little too large, especially in hot weather. Have not tried a 4-blade Fury
Johnnybass.. If you will get with Mark Croxton he can re-pitch your 28 Bravo XS to a “true” 27P.. Key word being “true”.. As you already know a stock 27 Bravo XS is nothing more than a 26P with extra cup added.. I had Mark true pitch a 28 Bravo for me to a 27P with a little extra tip cup and also had him Balance and Blueprint .. By far the best all around prop Ive run so far.. Switched from a 26 Fury and never looked back.. Better hole shot.. much better handling .. and really only lost about 1.5mph on top end..
Forgot to add.. Im running the 27P Bravo XS on an 05 Classic with a 3.0L 200 EFI.. RPM 5630.. Speed Normally 73-74.5.. Running the prop a hair below 2.75 PtP.. Mid range is really great..The posted speed is with a full fishing load which is normally myself at 195lbs ..full fuel tank (33gal)… 4 Blue Top Optimas.. On Board 3 Bank Charger.. Also 2 8″ Poles with pumps..Full livewell doesnt seem to slow it down much at all but adds just a tad of lag on the hole shot.. Working with Mark to try and solve that now..
