So I bought a new cover for my PII. Is there an easy (cheap) way to cover the trolling motor blade to keep it from cutting the cover? I have used old carpet, towels, and foam with other boats to cover the prop. Just wondering what everyone else does.

At one point I have seen a nylon cover similar to the outboard prop covers, but it has been awhile, that cover should have a heavy pice of canvas like material, kinda plastic coated and you shouldnt have any cut issues! Mine is an 08 cover, no cuts at all!!

MG makes a neoprene prop cover that I have seen on their website. Dont know about MK.

I partially sliced 3 tennis balls and connected them with an elastic cord. It covers the blades and the cord provides tension to keep in place. Works great!

A Tennis ball on the upper propeller, just make a slit, is more protective. The Motorguide cover is thin foam and will eventually wear out.

I just unscrew the prop off my MG and slide a tennis ball over the prop shaft. 9 times out of 10 I end up cleaning weed residue or line off the shaft, so its not a bad idea for a couple of reasons.

I never tow with my cover on so I dont have that issue. But if you are worried about that trolling motor prop digging into your cover, just wrap it with a towel, before you put the cover on. Not real pretty, but who sees it with the cover on anyway?
