Hey BCBers, I have a 2013 sabre FTD and I have started to notice that there is cracks forming everywhere. almost all compartment edges, under trolling motor, around the gas cap, and probably other places. Im wondering if this is a normal thing? I hope not. I have pictures and will try to attach. BCB Add:In our opinion it is almost impossible to run a Sabre FTD and 115 Mercury hard enough to do this damage. We do feel there is damage from another force, though not on the water damage. We are not accusing the poster of incurring that damage while in his ownership. Cracks do not appear in these cases when the incident occurs and we have seen dozens. The true source of the incident we do not know, this is under review. Last edited by Sabrecat88 on June 4th, 2015, 7:17 am, edited 2 times in total.
I have a 2009 Sabre FTD that I bought new. I do not have any cracks anywhere. I am sure the great folks at BCB can help resolve the problem.
Takes some pics and send to BassCat when they open up this week. Or if you are close to your dealer take it by and let them inspect and they will contact BC.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Please contact your original selling dealership this week with the serial number and have them begin this process for you of resolving this. No it is not common, especially on a Sabre. They will need a few pictures sent via email and dont overload them with dozens. Five or six images pointing locations out would be fine. Close up images are not necessary if the images are clear. Images close up dont let staff evaluate the origin or what may have caused the issue. Often they pattern it back to something and point of origin. Cracks that are not sequential or and symmetry are usually from a force of some sort. Cracks from operation on hard water are always in symmetry or sequential. One side means a force or action on one side. BCB
We just looked to see what history showed your rig was. There is no way a 115 Mercury will put enough stress on a Sabre FTD to cause mass issues. We will await your dealership forwarding pictures. BCB
I sent pictures to bass cat about a week ago. I dont have a local BCB dealer.
Then whichever dealership sold the boat to you is your selling dealership. If you sent pictures to Service, Richard has been out two weeks on National Guard duty. BCB
Well their is a long history with the boat. It was the Penn giveaway boat. I was away in Afghanistan and my wife finance the boat for me as a gift so I had a boat when I got home. Beautiful boat, but underpowered and now cracks everywhere. It has maybe 30-40 hours on it (I have been away on duty) and I have been trying to sell or repower the boat. My wife thinks I hate the boat, because I am unhappy with it. I wanna keep the boat but it is underpowered and now falling apart. She bought the boat from the person that won it in the raffle, so no dealership involved
Coldogfishing,You have no worries. Your boat we hink has a 115 Evinrude and we will be lad to look at everything. Its not falling apart o matter what you have. We are suspect is has been damaged. We do know which boat it was and that was a dealership promotion for Schwarzels Marine. We appreciate and are indebted to you for your service and we want you to know without such as yourself the world is not nearly and nice a place. Get us the pics emailed again and we will go from there. BCB
Want me to just use any dealership? What are my options? The boat needs to be fixed or sold. I dont think anyone wants a 2013 boat with cracks everywhere….
