I am running a 09 Cougar FTD and I have the original Lowrance units that came in dash on the console and the flush mount on the bow. I am also using a humminbird 898 on the bow as well as an 1197 on the console. I am having issues fishing for a few hours without having my voltage level drop on my bow units. I thought that if I turned off the back units when I dropped the bowmount in it would save some power. When the voltage drops too low my 898 on the bow will cut off. Ive also noticed that when I turn the outboard over, the bow mount Lowrance cuts off when the voltage is low. Any advice on what I can do? I didnt think that these units used this much power.
Go get you some 31 series deep cycle dekas and be done with it, i have yet to find the bottom of those after fishing ledges for 2-3 days w current and not plug them up during those 2-3 days/
the trolling motor batteries are fine. its the cranking battery that my electronics are hooked up to. are we talking about the same thing? thanks for the help
Are the deep cycle Dekas you mention used for cranking as well as trolling? Is this a better battery than the Diehard P1 or the Trojans? Im asking becasue I cant find them locally. Only one Trojan dealer but many Sears so trying to decide if its worth the difference to go and find them. Wil the Cul M Rite Pro Pak III charge all of these batteries, AGM etc? Thanks
if i am running my humminbird 898 on the same 12volt wiring as the flush mount lowrance that is on the bow, could this be why i seem to have little run time with them? i believe the batteries are one year old. is it recomended to run seperate lines to each unit i have on the boat?
The Noco or Cull-m-Rite will charge AGM batteries better than most any other and was tested by Trojan and was the highest recommended charger of on board units.
