I have a 2006 P-4 dual console with cup holders under each one. Was cleaning boat after coming through heavy rain storm and noticed cup holders full of water. Thinking that the holes in the bottom of the actual cup holders might have been stopped up I removed them only to find insulation foam. What do I need to do to get these to drain ? Im not big on drilling holes unless that is the only solution. Also need advice on the 2 cup holders in the middle of my seats. I have the carpeted box and after taking the holder out all I see is the bottom of the box, since this is wood I dont mind having to cut a couple holes in the bottom of the box if this would be advisable.
You need to take a screw driver or something of the like and push a hole in the insulation on the front 2 then reseal those cup holders back down. That happens sometimes. The 2 on the carpeted box are not set up to drain. All you have to do is lift that box up and dump them. Good luck. Judd Lasiter
Thanks Judd !! Since I have you on the line, Im headed to Fork this afternoon for a couple days and will be staying at the Burning Stump. ( 1st Time ) Its been a couple years since I fished Fork and was curious as to running the markers since the lake has come back up. Is there obsticles that one would need to be careful of if running ? I use to run up Birch and Caney on the South end and run to Garrett Bay and Buzzard Point on the North without any problems. I also use to stay at Axtons which would allow me to go either direction.
Burning Stump is nice…it is one of the newer places on the lake. Running the markers are as good as they have been in a few years. No problems there between the Vals/Axtons bridge south and around at least into Glade. I dont venture north of that Axtons/Vals bridge too much. But I think there is a place called Shotgun pass up there and I heard about some stumps in the boat lane up there not long ago. When the water got down it allowed them to see some stuff they hadnt seen so they have adjusted some of the bouys and all are good that I am aware of. I went into Dale this past Saturday and they moved the bouys going into there over to the pipeline. It was a shocker for me. I hadnt been in there since they removed the bouys that would take you to the back of Dale. We saw 4 bed fish in there but I think a lot of that is over…not all but a lot. Fishing was tough for us…we ended the day with 4 good unders and that was in the last hour we were there. I was proud of them . It was ROUGH and hard to move around to much. Around Wolf and mouth of Little Caney we had to idle or we wouldve ate one. It was an interesting day. Slow was the key for us flukes, senkos, worms. Good luck, have fun and be safe! JL
Thanks agian for the info Judd, we launched out of Mustang Tue. morning and started fishing the cove to the right with Spinner bait, char./ white skirt and small willow leaf blades. Had one that would go 6-7 lbs , we left and went across the lake and fished until the thunder and rain started. Went back to the Stump and regrouped. Was checking out my Detwiler Jack plate and found it wouldnt operate. was in the down position and couldnt get to the plug to put fluid in. Im assuming I need to contact Detwiler ? Anyway with trailered around to Public boat launch by the minnow bucket and ran up to the second cove on the right and caught 4 between 3 1/2 and 4 lbs left and went to the cove just before the bridge and caught 4 more about same as the others and called it a day around 6:30 Yesterday morning we trailered back to public boat launch and ran down to allagator cove using same spinnerbait and ended up catching 7 more between 3 1/2 and 4 and biggest was right at 7 wind was really starting to get up around 10 10:30 so we decided it was time to load up and head back to Houston.
Sounds like a great trip. It also sounds like the fishing is picking up and that is great! I havent been able to get them to hit a moving bait with any consistancy since early March. But I also know the shad spawn was kicking into full swing last weekend and figured that bite would start turning on. Yes on the Detwiler…them or call Phil Addison, he knows those things forward and backward. JL
