I have a 2008 Sabre with the small round touchpad for the livewell, bilge pump, horn, and lights. Today I walked out into my garage and found the lights on the dash gauges were on. I thought this was weird because I know I did not turn them on. I checked the rest of the buttons and found that the aerator button was turning on the bilge pump so I just turned everything off and went to watch a weigh-in. When I got back home I checked the boat and again found that the lights were on and the bilge pump was also on. The touch pad would not turn them off and when I hit the aerator button, the horn blew. I had to unhook my battery to get them to turn off. Any ideas on what the problem is? I am assuming it is the small round touch pad. Any thoughts?

You are correct in that it probably is the touch pad itself. These are simple to replace and the 2008 was not a problem. There was a problem with the very first production of Vision touch pads. Those were recalled and replaced. Since then it has only been the occasional one and very few. Those are a sealed adhesive pad which plugs into the control module. We apologize for the issue and will repair it through your dealer or direct. It only takes a few minutes to replace.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I will be arriving for the OI on Monday the 27th. Would it be possible for me to swing by the plant that morning and have someone take a look at it? Or do I need to go by Duncan Marine one day this week and see if they can fix it for me? Is the touch pad something they will have on hand?

They will not have the touch pad, though we could send one in. We could also handle this fast when you are in town on the 27th. The choice is yours. BCB

I will swing by the plant on the 27th! I need a BassCat sticker for the backglass of my new truck anyway. Thanks BCB. Hey fireemt, my Sabre looks just like the one in your avatar, except with a dark grey hull. Feel free to say hi if you see my running around somewhere.
