I have a 1995 Pantera II and upgraded the digital dash to the push button panel. Everything works OK except now the horn no longer works, all I hear is a faint buzz. The igniton key once turned to the on position used to beep now all I get is a faint buzz. And finally I have 3 wires that were left over from the upgrade wire harness: pink wire (which the upgrade harness had a connection for a pink wire but my boat had “2” pink wires) I tried each pink wire seperatly and then both together nothing changed, orange wire and a brown wire with a thin blue stripe. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks,

If there is a buzz from the horn and you have 12 volts there, you have a faulty horn. It is not uncommon.

The horn went out in my 96 P-II many years ago, pretty easy to swap out with a new one. My BP101 finally bit the dust this month and the analog conversion dash is currently on order from BCB. Im gonna miss the BP101, though many of the feaytures I never used. How do you like the analog dash package? Was the install pretty clean and straightforward? Thanks for the feedback!

The installation went well. I had to drill and add an extension on the Tach and Speed guage bracket on one side where it went against the back side of the panel. The other side I actually had to cut a piece off where it went against the back side of the dash. When drilling the holes for the fuel and amp guage the thickness of the dash is suprising. You will have to clean out the hole drill a couple of times before you will actually drill all of the way thru. To install the fule and amp guage you will have to take the wires off of the back of the guages and run the wires thru the drilled holes and re-connect the wires to the guages and complete the installation. With the installation of the fuel and amp guage I had to trim off a section off of each leg of the bracket and bend them slightly out so that I could get the bracket to slip on the all thread post to secure it with the nuts supplied.. The color code wireing harness was easy to match the wires and the wiring harness has about 4-5 wires that are labeled telling you what to connect to. The wire harness I recieved I had to use crimp pliers to connect the wires. All of the wires came with a blue crimp connector already attached to each wire. The only question I had was I had 2 pink wires on the boat harness and the upgrade wire harness only had 1 pink wire to connect to. I also had a extra orange wire that I have no clue what it went to and a brown wire with a thin blue line also have no clue where it goes to. I have not yet had time to go completely thru the boat harness at the bow or the stern and look around. I am very pleased with the upgrade. My digital unit still worked, just wanted a change. Hope this helps.

Thanks highway! I also ordered a pod or module from BCB which will allow me to keep the security system function operable after the BP101 is gone, it was an additional charge but I felt was a worthy investment, considering the the number of theft incidents at the ramps around here lately. My BP101 currently has two lives, as the keypad (AER, RECIRC, BILGE, HORN) will work for several days, then go on the fritz for a week, then start working again. Looking forward to getting back to the simpler, more reliable, analog world, although at a cost I wish I didnt have to spend!
