This is what I would do…
One live well latch misaligned: Have it fixed. Simply take it to another dealer even if you have to drive a ways.
Missing BCB valve stem cap: Buy a set from BCB Store. They are cheap and you will lose another. They tend to walk away at boat ramps.
Running BCB lights peeling away from the trailer: Clean the area behind the decal, use some 3M tape, Gorilla Glue or Epoxy and fix it.
Drivers seat with premature wear of the leather: Get pictures to BCB and I bet they will ship a new seat to you.
Plastic shroud covering gear selector handle wiring not screwed down: Get the proper sized stainless screws and do it yourself.
Cotter pin located on prop driveshaft nut not tabbed down: Take a screwdriver and tab it down yourself.
I am not saying that this should not have been caught by the dealer or the factory BUT Life is too short to have issues like this affect your happiness. Sell it if you must but you will lose some of your investment.
While some of this is I would agree with, the first “simple fix” is the one that almost everyone on this thread has simply failed to understand. Even the follow up after this post, while making a good point about taking time to go to another dealer and a 150 mile round trip, is a little short.
This man’s dealer is apparently up in Spokane, Washington. He’s already said the next closest dealer is in California. Now using the manufacturer’s dealer listing here, that would be a dealer in Livermore, California. Using Google to figure driving distance, that’s 884 miles between the two cities, ONE WAY. That would be hard to expect to drive 14 hours to drop off a boat, 14 hours back, then have to do it all over again to go get it. There’s just not as many dealers for this manufacturer in some parts of the country as people are used to in their own backyards. Probably only a few more for brands that far out west.
So, yeah, “Simply take it to another dealer…” doesn’t work in every situation. Definitely the seat, latch and lights are being reviewed higher up and things will hopefully work out behind the scenes. The shroud on the gearshift, the cotter pin, while both unexpected and frustrating, can be addressed as part of routine maintenance at home.
Good Luck
If you buy a bass boat and don’t expect to have to invest some time in fixing stuff, you are an idiot.
The seat wear aside, this kind of stuff is hilarious. It amazes me that BCB and other companies even respond to stuff like this. I don’t see how they do it.
Lets see some pics of these issues so we can better gauge the severity of the situation. How off is the latch? how much peeling is the light doing? Was this the dealer’s fault or factory error? Did you bring it back and give the dealer an opportunity to fix it?
Limit Out Marine rigged my 2021 Cougar 203 and did an outstanding job, this is my second Cat from Limit Out and 5th overall. They are a dependable dealership, with an experienced crew. The issues listed, seem to me, to be really minor. My 2021 has the best overall quality of any Cat I’ve bought and the work Limit Out added to that was the best dealer performance I’ve had.

I have always had great service from Russ and Limit Out Marine. Great team with a ton of knowledge. I would never hesitate to bring my Eyra to them for anything. I am very interested to see if the OP will post pics of the issues. We need better context to gauge the real severity of these issues. Anyone can make allegations, but providing evidential proof is definitive.
While defending the reputation of the dealership is honorable and appreciated, the OP has some issues that are the main point of this conversation. Some may be minor and we respect that. He still has the freedom to share his opinion while you have the freedom to weigh his complaints with your own opinion.
Let’s respect both.
My 2 cents, Guys everyone has the right to screw up. We all have, how we rectify the issue is what defines us. Bass Cat has made a few errors on my boats, { have had many Bass Cats}, Bilge pump not seated properly and first time on the water back filled with water! Bass Cat with dealer came through quickly. Some other minor issues which I or my dealer Midwest Marine took care of. Some people my not have the time or the ability to fix the issues or the time to take it to the dealer or another one. Let me ask you , if you bought an 80K Tesla and some of the trim or gear shift was loose or paint was peeling off the back bumper panel I am sure you would not be happy with it and if the dealer did not fix it quickly you would probably be very unhappy. Some of us have had many boats and are used to what I call the screw in items sometime need a bit of a tweak. If you buy your lifetime boat and have not ordered one in many years you probably expect it in perfect condition just like your new car. The small things should have been done and if not taken care of quickly. Bass Cat will resolve any issues the dealer can not. I am sure of. Remember everyone is different and expectation are different and he has the right to have his voice. I would have repaired all the issues except for seat wear and not batted an eye but I am not him and he has a different and valid view point.

That is exactly why I asked for pics. Hard to judge the issues without seeing them. Seeing pics, we may be able to help fix the issues that the OP has raised. Coming over from 20 years owning Skeeters, these seem extremely minor compared to what I’ve dealt with, but we can put the issues into context without seeing them. Also, what I deem minor may be major to some people. Each person will have their own opinion.
Snoyes, I had 2 major (same) issues w/ a tin boat brand 5 years ago so I can empathize. To avoid crushing a brand I’ll keep things confidential, but I had welds open up on 2 different models within a 12 month period of time and lost out on a ton of fishing time. All throughout the process the mfg blamed me. I don’t own nor have I ever owned a BCB model, but I’ve spent countless hours over the years doing my due diligence. I have been hesitant to buy another bass boat for years, but my research gives me comfort in doing business w/ BCB. BCB is committed to their customers and will resolve the issue. I know it’s not easy to be patient and aggravating to deal w/ these types of issues. You’ll be on the water in time. Enjoy the Caracal!
