decal coming off

Both domed decals on the rear of 2013 P4 are starting to come off at the corners. Is there a certain glue I can use to stick it back down?

New decals are the best shot. BCB models are more prone to decal loss because the decals are subjected to more forces. Thisis because the decals are rear corner hull mounted while other boat companies decals are deck mounted. Going to a less costly flat decal would help on the life, though these would not by the formed urethane dome style. These are getting revised and reevaluated now, as the present decal company has made a decision to depart the marine industry. We have no way of knowing if the replacement vendor will have the same results at this time. Just call your dealer with the serial number and they can handle it. You can do it yourself also.

Yes. Ive had em come off too. Pressure washer (accident) and also some cleaner waxes seem to weaken the glue

I sure do hear alot of people loosing decals. I have a 13 year old Classic (for about 2 more weeks anyway) and have never lost a decal. Must be the glues required by todays EPA restrictions. The older rigs dont seem to have this problem.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

No problems with by 12. Im sure the domed decals are prone to getting caught on brush, docks…etc.

But they look so damn good! Mine are still going strong (2007) even though there is way to much evidence of them coming into contact with branches, docks, etc…..

I had to replace mine this spring on my 2007 PIV. No big problem if it only needs replacing every 6 years.

I replaced one of the flat ones on my 04 Sabre. part of it was torn, but let me tell you… the part still stuck on, was STUCK…ON….. Dont tell anyone, but I ended up having to leave some of it on there and cover it w/ the new decal. lol13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

I had to replace both on My 2010 Puma FTD….Bass Cat sent me 2 new ones and removing the gunk that was left behind was no big deal. It really seems to be an issue when running in Cold water…I used Acetone and a plastic scraper that wouldnt scratch the gel coat and the stuff came right off. I took precise measurements of the decal location when I removed them then once everything was cleaned up I laid out where the decal was suppose to be placed with an erasable marker…I sprayed windex on both the boat and the Decal and placed the decal onto the Boat. I used the plastic scraper to work the windex out from behind the decal and a blow drier set on low to help dry out the windex and get the decal to take a good set….. I let it sit for 24 hours and havent had any issues for 2 years…. I do have to be honest though..It didnt look very good for my Brand new Bass Boat to be losing its decals at the first tournament of the year…..I am a huge Bass Cat fan but that was kind of hard to sweep under the carpet with the other brand owners once they saw it… Last edited by brnzbaklvr on November 20th, 2013, 6:10 pm, edited 1 time in total.
