A quick thank you to Phil Addison in answering all my questions and providing help with the Detweiler hydraulic jack plate. For anyone who hasnt been able to work with Phil, I would highly recommend Phil and Impact Fishing; and Detweiler makes a great hydraulic jack plate. My 06 Sabre was running very well, but Ive never had the ability to guage the boats performance in the time Ive owned it. In May, I left the boat in OK and while it was there, Phil shipped the self-contained hyd. jack plate to Sundown Marine for installation. In the three days of fishing, I had a brief opportunity to experiment with the jack plate. It has made a dramatic improvement in over-all performance of the boat, especially with steering, speed, handling, and hole shot. With the boat fully loaded and full fuel tank, 500# of guys, the boat got up to 63 on the GPS. The RPM was only running about 5100. Im now anxious to see how much more the boat can do when I get back here next spring.
