Detwiler Hydrolift gauge Calibration?

I just replaced the sending unit for the jack plate on my 2013 Puma FTD. Seastar was not much help with troubleshooting. I can watch the gauge move when the arm moves but when the arm is bolted to the jack plate it is way off. Does anyone have any experience calibrating one of these plate gauges? My closest dealer is over an hour and a half away, if I need to take it in I will but I have to think this is something easy that Im missing. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I believe there was a thread here some time back about recalibrating when changing gauges or something. I had the same issue w/ the trim gauge and someone posted a video from youtube where the mercury guy walks you through step by step. i would think that the jackplate would be the same maybe??

The moving parts on the old Detwiler were a bear to deal with. We really like the new SmartStick on SeaStar though its digital instead of analog. The analog of the old Detwiler has all sorts of moving parts and just measures resistance. The gauges also fail frequently.

So I like where youre going with this potentially. By your statement Im hoping that there is a retro fit for the Smartstick? Ive seen it on their website…….

I spoke with Seastar today and learned that they had a run of their replacement sending units that were wired incorrectly when they were built. This issue causes the gauge to read incorrectly and not able to be calibrated. Wanted to pass this along in case there are any others are having possibly the same issue. DK3005 is the replacement part number if needed.

BWP77, any idea where you saw that video? I tried several searches on YouTube and found nothing. It would definitely help me to get an explanation of how to do it.
