BCB is tired of this subject, but. I posted on a page three of a old post with no response but really interested in a new revelation. I hooked power only (no transducer, no GPS) to the 1998 on the bow, and the interference is still there (maybe worse). So, with the transducer our of the equation, any ideas??Also, in the triple screen, I have no DI interference, all SI. Milton

Steeler , Radio waves are funny things . — They can be picked up by any kind of unshielded wire , or even the fillings in peoples teeth . — The ” CHOKE ” that hummingbird has will greatly reduce , but not eliminate what youre picking up through the power wires . — Im working on a solution to this problem , but it seems to be a very enigmatic gremlin , as it never behaves the same on any 2 different units . — Hoss

I got a hds 8 had interference badly. Hooked in to the 10 gauge wire running (ground) to the front of the boat from the cranking battery .connected to it half way up the boat in gunnel in sta t board rod box . Ran the wire to the clamp that holds the tranducer on the trolling motor foot. Problem was solved .2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

No one solution fixes all of the problems. Thats whats making this such a crazy thing. My units have no issues at all @ 200hz. or 83hz.. The issue is exclusively at 455hz. The one consistent is to turn your trolling motor on high (wide open) which eliminates the pulse modulation and your screens will be pristine.99% of my problem went away when I ran a wire from the trolling motor ground (in the head) down to the trolling motor foot skeg and connected the wire below the bolt to the sacrificial anode. Even though the motor case is internally grounded – it still required the additional wire. I do have chokes on my HB power cable to “clean” the voltage. I have no transducer wiring running down the trolling motor cable.
