Distortions/indentations in bottom of boat, anything to worry about?

Hi, I have a 2021 P2. I was cleaning some of the river grime off the bottom of boat and noticed a couple areas that looked weird. Is what looks like dents, or indentations, but no impact. Is this just how it comes out of mold? Nothing to worry about? Or should I show to dealer?

On port side when knock on it sounds about same in and around distortion, but on starboard side sounds denser when knock on area with distortion.

Is hard to get pictures of it. But get idea I think from photos.

That’s interesting… get with your dealership on this one and density by tapping won’t indicate anything. If these are cosmetic issues as they appear it’s just gelcoat.

When you rub your hand over them, do you feel depressions? If you lay a straight edge across them do you see a gap? If so, could be a real problem. Check this and get the boat to a dealer. If your nearest BC dealer is a long way away, find a local well liked dealer and get them to just look at it. Can be much of nothing or can be a real issue. Check it out. m If you feel or see no depressions, it could be just gel coat issue. A dealer really should look at it for you.

Is in a little bit where the distortions are. Hard to get a picture because surfaces are not really flat. One spot goes in about 1-2 mm where I could get a straight edge on it. On both sides where saw it are shallow depressions, I.e. sinks in a little. Not a ton, 1-2 mm probably. I will show to dealer, has to go in next month either way. Just didn’t know if this was just normal variation on bottom of boat or not. Fiberglass boats are never perfectly flat, are ripples when light hits it right usually either way. Didn’t want to bug them about something that is normal.

Can see in picture of level at top is gap in middle between level and gelcoat.

Unravels, that has nothing to do with your cosmetic issue. When we pull vacuum we can get some areas that shift and hold. You’re reading more into cosmetics than there is there. If the slight depressions are your concerns then those may be perfectly normal, and there are a few in the design in hull transitions also. Our concern is the apparent cosmetic gelcoat areas, though we don’t see those in your last image.

If those were just water spots we saw, then the rest is normal.

I’d get it inspected, and probably not dig into it if its cosmetic… Once you open that box of snakes you cant put them back in, and it wont ever be the same again.
