Topic: Does any one have any info on the Humminbird Helix 9,10 or 12

I have been thinking I wanted Lowrance 9 on the bow and a 12 at the console. The price tag had me rethinking my choice. So I was looking on the BBC boards the other day at depth finders and found some info on the Helix. For the same money I could have a 10 DI GPS with 360 on the bow and a 12 Chirp SI GPS at the console and a 10 Sonar GPS at console for mapping. What is everyones thoughts. I am ok with the Helix not being touch screen.

Best info Ive seen is like you say on BBC in humminbird sectionThe humminbird website doesnt have much imo

Like 1958 says, if you go over to BBC to the Humminbird/Sonar GPS forum, there is a wealth of info there on these new units, including some screen shots of field testing from the pro staff. There is a sticky at the top called Helix 9, 10 and 12 Information Resource as well as other numerous threads.

They are the same case size throughout and only the screen itself shrinks down. Operations look fine and similar to core products, which are 800, 900 & 1100 series. The units appear to be fine and the case similarity has its challenges.

Why is offering them up in the air. I believe they are an upgrade in quality and price point. Also it may be the beginning of the core unit retirement.

Ok that makes sense. I would not want it flush mounted. I would like it set up like Ivans last years boat.
