Dual console removal

You can remove them slowly with a set of plastic putty knives and removal of the bolts. The process is a slow go to do it right.

sam – i can always put the console back on. then when if/i sell it, you can paint it purple then.

Weekend project of installing my new 1198c Bird… I also ended up completing the task of removing the passenger console that I have wanted to do for a while now. Whole process was very easy except for the time removing the sealant that was there. It seemed a little water and vinegar mixture helped loosen the sealant, somewhat, lol. I think I spent about 2 or 3 hours using an assortment of plastic tools to remove what little sealant that was there. Polished up with zero scratches on front and sides. Cannot wait too hit Falcon this weekend with the new mods to the P4. Deck appears bigger with the console removed. No more squeezing between the consoles. Mount holes are cleaned and temp plugged with some RTV sealant. I may glass the holes over to make look better. Still looking at my options. Looks pretty good so far I think. I removed mine from my Puma. 5 bolts?I took the 3 bolts in front off then the 2 on the inside of the glove box and tried to remove using plastic wedges. After a lot of prying I was thinking I gotta find out what type of adhesive this is cause it is really strong. Finally pealed more carpet back inside the glove box and found a 6th bolt.

I would call BCB parts and get screw caps for the holes. The finish will be nice and professional with caps and you wont lose your access for replacement. I have wondered about doing this on mine as well.C.O.D. Jr. III

Today, I installed the black screw caps as I have a good stash. Thats the way to go. Looks good. Replaced the black antiskid and installed some new area antiskid tape too… Ready for Falcon..

BCB, 06 p4, besides the 5 bolts, how is the passenger console attached on the side. Is it a some kind of urethane epoxy. If so, I wonder what would be the best item to remove it with, besides elbow grease. I believe it was installed at the factory. Just trying to get an idea before I even try to remove it.Anyone else removed theirs?Going to maybe fish some Ts solo, looking for the room. Thanks.
