Dye

I know I had spilled some on my carpet and after a couple weeks it went away on its own. Not sure if the same will happen on the seats. Spike It does make a dye removal that you could try.

My partner spilled a whole bottle of Spike It on my 3 day old Charger Boat several years ago. Talk about being MAD, I called Spike It to find a solution o clean this mess up. Spike It makes a neutralizer that will take the stain out. However they told me that the sun was the best solution to get the dye out of the carpets, vinyl seats and fiberglass. The dye faded enough within a couple weeks from the carpet and seats. The fiberglass was a different story the stain was and is some what noticeable. My fiberglass color was ruby red. when the sun hit it just right you still could see the stain.

Is the acetone safe to use on gelcoat? I (actually my 13 yo at the time son) got a lot of purple on my white fiberglass and grey carpet on the rod locker lid and its still there 2 years later though it has faded some. Thanks Deke

If you spill it on the carpet, just soak it with lots of water right away…it will be fine. If you spill it on the seats or gel coat, dont worry about it. As Gary said above, sunlight will fade it away, it will be gone in a couple of weeks. Trust me…I know these things.
