E-Ladder question

Ive been looking at newer cats and tried the eladder in shallow water on a PIV. I found it difficult for an older guy like myself to get back into the boat on my own. If the waves were up Im not sure I would have made it into the boat. It would have been easier if there was a handle to grab and help pull on. I do not have a problem getting into a boat with the older boarding ladders. Age and strength should be considered when you choose ladders. If I were younger, I would probably get the eladder. A handle for the eladder is something BCB should consider for safety. Good post and thanks for bringing up the subject. LOZman

I think a grab handle would be a great add on to compliment the E-Ladder. BassCat what do you think of this idea?

I just ordered a 2010 P IV moving up from my 2008 Sabre via the Loyatly program. I have used my E-Ladder one time in the past and found it challenging getting back into the boat without something to grap onto with my left hand. Is there a add-on Grab handle that could be added to make it easier to use with the E-Ladder? Just a thought. Flyswatter

Im sure BCB and others will respond, but the E Ladder just bolts onto the engine bracket, which in turn is up against the jack plate. You will likely need to get longer bolts, as the ones that hold the engine to the jack plate, wont be long enough to go through the E Ladder, engine bracket and the plate.

The mounting bracket and ladder are all together. The E ladder bolts on to the engine bracket and has a spring loaded knob that drops it down when you pull it. When not needed it is pulled up and the spring load locks it back in. I have one and it really works. My bolts worked fine without getting new ones. You will need a bracket along with the E Ladder. The bolts to the engine may need longer bolts to hold the bracket also.
