I think the ladder will do exactly as it was designed to do. That is help you up in the boat in an emergency situation. I wouldnt want to use it every weekend for a skiing ladder. I have never had mine come down without putting it down. You will need an adapter plate for it to mount on your engine bolts. That is it. Good luck. Not at 82 in those 4 footers though! The ladder pivots on the lower pin if it were to be left in the dropped position. Be sure to check the side mounting bolts frequently and use good LocTite on them. BCB
