Earthquakes suck! We have had 3 now within about a 25 hour period ranging from a 4 to the largest being 5.6. The largest lasted for about a minute. Have a couple of new cracks in the house now but the Basscat made it through w/o a scratch. The entire house was shaking and it was loud. Did anyone in Arkansas feel it?

So now here is the question here in Ca. we dont have tornadoes very often but plenty of earthquakes (5.6 being a yawner). Which would you rather have having now seen both?irv

I have never been involved in a tornado although I have seen a couple and helped in the cleanups. The tornado sirens go off several times a year giving warning to possible tornadoes. Theres no warning w/ earthquakes. It was pretty loud and everything in house shaking. It felt like the house was going to fall in. If these were yawners I sure would hate to experience a big one. Theres more injury and deaths each year involving tornadoes so for safety reasons I would rather experience an earthquake. Mother nature is really picking on Ok. this year. First we had record snow falls and cold temps, then flooding, currently in drought, now earthquakes.

After seeing all that carnage this year from tornadoes in MO and AL, i dont want no part of no tornado. Never been in an earth quake and hope it stays that way.

Went through a 6.8 near LA at 2:00 in the AM didnt hear it, but the aftershocks, you could hear the wave coming sounded like a million bears growling at once and then a second or two later the world would shake. Caused about 90K damage to our 1300 sq. ft. house. I think that tornadoes when if they hit you are probably more dangerous and deadly but maybe you can run and hide . No hiding from an E quake! Glad to hear that people in your area are OK though.

I had just jumped in the shower when the quake hit, strange feeling for sure but I would take earthquake over tornado anyday of the week. we are getting pelted again right now with straight line winds over 65mph and hail. Just part of living in Oklahoma!we have a tornado just west of OKC right now so welcome to SPRING in oklahomaTreat everyday like it might be the last

Yea I felt my first shake last night Im staying in Tulsa working.Kinda funny feeling thats for sure.
