Try my best to explain this: Fished half a day with no problems, trolling motor started acting like the batterys were going dead. Both batteries were fully charged before leaving for lake, motored down to panther bay to get bats. checked out, they both checked out fine. Got home tested batteries and the plug where the trolling motor plugs in and both checked 24 volts. The head of the trolling motor doesnt seem to be getting hot and the prop turns freely. 67lb thrust motorguide, on 93 pantera 2. Any thoughts and/or answers would be appreciated.

Check the voltage in the battery, and since you seem to not be throwing the breakers we are thinking it might be the batteries themselves.

Batteries checked out alright. Could there be a problem in the wiring from the batteries to the t.m.? I cant seem to figure this out.

I had a similar problem w/ a tr82 problem ended up it motor head tri-state fixed under warr. It acted like when you stepped on it or dialed up speed it would drop out or surge then go off

You need to check the voltage w/ Tm plugged in and preferrably runniing… esp if you are using a digital meter…you could be reading a surface charge on the batt… pay attention to how fast the volts drop as the motor runs… Most Auto parts stores have a device to put a load on the batt..when testing..you could take tham out and go by AZ, NAPA etc.. Make sure ALL connections are tight, take the plug out from the bow panel and check those. Also you may want to load test the batteries to make sure they are up to par. A 12volt reading from a VOM doesnt mean they are good. Good luck
