Topic: electrical problem help!

on the lake saturday. on my way back to the ramp. had no power to the ignition, smart gauges, no trim. everything else worked. i googled it and found there is a fuse box under the cowling on my 200 Optimax. i finally found the box but when i checked the fuses they were all good. can anybody tell me how to fix this. i cant find any inline fuses i jumped across the various relays on the starting battery and that is not working either. I just bought the boat first time out. The boat is a 2006 PIV.

I think there should be two small fuse blocks on the starboard side of the powerhead one will have a fuse in it that powers those. The fuse blocks just look like a pigtail on the harness with a cover on them that says “fuses” the one you checked may be the wrong one. Best I can remember they are around the ECU.

i found one, but not two. I looked for another one but i did not find one? ive looked over this thing for hours. first boat ive had since my 97 P3 that i bought new. Im not the saviest on this subject. All i know is that i cant go fishing..lol.

If it has the large cannon style plug those pins can open and it is common to require them to be spread.

there is a long style plug type connector that is snapped to a holder next to the ECU, if this is the same one. Ill check it and make sure it gets good connection..Thanks!

I looked all over for the plug. couldnt find it. still havent figured it out, but im working at it.

Also, look for the splices that “push” together. On my 06 opti/P4, they were located foward lower side, one inch below of top cowl seam. I recall there may be 3 splices there. I had one come loose twice. Motor would crank but no fire. My trim worked though. Smart gages would not churp either. (self test)good luck
