It definitely sounds as if your not familiar with your unit The first thing I would recommend, go to the menu and turn off the fish I D.( it will then show fish as arches) That particular feature is truly for the novice. If left on this feature, the unit may not be giving you the correct info all the time. It may identify something else as fish also. Then I would set the upper and lower limits. Say if your fishing in 40 of water, the fish are in 20 to the bottom. You dont need to see the whole 40, so set the upper at 25 and the lower at 45. This enables you to see more of the actual fishing are in detail.Then I would suggest setting your unit for the Auto Mode. ( most units work very well in this mode) Assuming the transducer is located on the troller. Then you will be able to identify your lure as it drops down to the fish. The sensitivity setting may need adjusting but maybe not! In time youll get more experience and familiar with the menu. Read your manual if all else fails. Believe me, you dont have to be a rocket scientist to get results. Good Luck! Glynn
