Congratulations to Paul Chapin as he got the answer right on the Challenge this week! Shorty Evans (Mortician) won an event on Kentucky Lake, Emmett Chiles (Farmer) did place in 50% of events and Carlos Mayo (Sheet Metal) did have a BCB last we knew, though we cant be for certain now on that one Ronny.Back in the 1970s through his time Emmett & Sophie Chiles were a friends of Ron & Jan Pierce. Emmett was a very good angler who competed for several seasons till he went back to help his son Bruce farm the familys Arkansas crops. He was a staple in fishing at that time. Emmett was a true Arkansas gentleman. Shorty Evans successfully started and ran 58 businesses in his lifetime there from Houston, Missouri. He was a mortician by trade, though did automotives as a car dealer, swapped everything anyone would ever think about and his more known of venture was Shortys Sport Buckets which many of you have seen in the sporting goods section. You know those red seats on a swivel with a 5 gallon bucket underneath. His family also marketed the recent wooden shotgun cases and other similar products. The fishing venture he took on was Shortys Trolling Motor propellers. Marketing aluminum replacement trolling motor propellers all across the USA. Being the all time joker, he would give you a propeller for free, then you later would realize it was not drilled for a shaft or shear pin. Carlos Mayo was an old time angler who resided in NW Arkansas and many of the folks there will know his name. We are not sure if Carlos still has his BCB model or not, though at last we knew he still owned one. We have lost track of this over time. Thank you to all who played this week and the next one we will make easier, though this one almost made it through the week without an answer. BCB
