How much torque on the steering wheel are you suppose to have at wot. It is pretty hard to turn the boat at wot. Its a 150 mariner with a 22p laser 2 prop. 19 ft pantera 2

i dont know how much you are supposed to have, but i would say as little as possible. My boat had horable steering torque until i put on a torque tab. Now the only time i feel torque is when i am trimed all the way down or if i take my hands off of the wheel. It feels like hydralic steering now.

Not so much you can not turn it, just a tid bit of pressure.

My PII have a 200hp Erude on it and has little to no torque on wheel running a 21p prop. At 61 or 62 can almost drive with a finger. I belive the jp setting has some effect on this. Im runnig with my prop shaft 4 1/4 inches below pad. Im looseing top speed but the ride,handling and hole shot are pretty amazing. Hope this helps

4doorcat, that performance is not great, and your fuel mileage is off. The small propeller may be compensating by a previous owner for an inadequacy in the engine. Though dont change it as you never know and a power head is expensive. Most with your engine run up into the 70s and the propeller of choice was a 25 or 27 Shooter or a 25 Renegade back then. The Raker sries we did not like, and some would run a Predator 25 PPS. Which was a great wheel, if you could keep a hub in them. You may want to try a newer Raker II in a 24″ series.

And we would not expect anything short of a High Five on a 200 Mercury in this rig to beat you out of the hole, set up like this.

The motor on my rig seems to be strong. Good compression, all new electronics and it starts and idles as smooth the day ( I image it was )new. are there any jp adjustments I could make to help overall performance. The motor will a 26p prop to 5600 or so but suffers bad on hole shot.Dont want to take over this topic.will start new one if need to.

Tnbasscat, You are pretty close to where you need to be on prop, though engine height is your adjustment.
