they are both great motors. I think you can find pluses and minuses in both. Personally, I own a Etec. Its personal preference. Your comments are one of several reasons why I went with Etec. I have fished in many boats with Optis and feel they are awesome motors….. Gas mileage is second to none for optis. I dont want this to digress in mine is better. Lets just say there are three great motors to choose from out there.
