To stir the pot….. Mostl likely will get this motor when I come back to BassCat. Ive followed this motor real close from its release and reports overwhelmingly are positive vs some early minor fixable issues. Will there be an occasional issue sure but that is warranty and not a systemic issues. Again, I have not read anything relating to power head k-booms anywhere on the web with the G2. This motor is solid with standard 5 year warranty too. However, I”m not ruling out the SHO either. Had one and loved it! My goto dealer when I return is Brech Marine, Selma-AL. Ill be happy with either but happier to try out the G2.Top End is about the same on all motors. The G2 hole shot to mid range is even better then the SHO from reports Ive read and that is saying something there. As for BassCats Ive been out of the loop and not sure how much setup time has been exhausted to really dial in a Cat/G2 setup. Also, new props are out for this motor. I have seen a few BassCats with the G2 and they do look sharp (to me). I know on the barge heavy Rangers their numbers are exceptional carrying the load to top end speed. I know I wont hesitate getting one if price is reasonable to justify the innovative things on the motor. Now to some they will never accept this motor. Thats okay. There are some bad legacy issues and to some just dont like the looks. To me thats what makes this country great. We have choices to choose from.
