Evinrude question

I purchased an 2002 Classic with an Evinrude 200. I have been nothing but please with the performance of the Cat! I hit a log in the water during a tournament and damaged the lower unit. Insurance paid for a new lower unit, since it has been installed I have spun 4 hubs on the replacement lower unit and havent even gotten it out of the breakin period. Is it possible that the new lower unit is the wrong one? Please help! [url=mailto:[email protected]][email protected][/url]

No its probably not the gear case. Sounds like whoever is pressing in the new hub is not getting it right. Time for a Mercury prop!!

You need to go to the new insert hubs on the Evinrude propellers, or go to a Merc hub and prop.

If it is an E-Tec and the prop hub is getting hot and melting both styles of hubs, your new lower unit is missing the scoop that picks water and throws it back into the exhaust. The scoop is not on all motors. It is a fix for prop melters.
