Was looking at maybe getting a couple of the newer Exide AGM 200s soon for the trolling motor, per BCB recommendations. Will these fit OK in the R&R aluminum tray of an 02 model P3? These batteries are right at 13inches long. My R&R tray currently has a small flat bracket on the inside (about 2×4 inches)with 2 short screws on each end that will limit the battery length to about 12 inches. However, it does not seem as though this bracket serves any real purpose, except maybe as a spacer for a grp 27. I currently only have grp 24 gels. Those end caps are removable to allow the larger trays, and there should be one on each end, which allows the 31 series. On the older trays, you may have to tweak the top ring and cut a notch or two in it. The newer ones are more versatile and fit most batteries. We are prepping for the dealer meeting and they are putting in some of the 31 series for meeting, so they should work. BCB

BCB, Is this the same for the 2008 Cougar? I moved my batteries around on the change due to size because it appeared the end brackets actually held the tray to the hull? If not I may be able to move them back to their respective areas although the upper hold down threaded rods were pretty tight on the single as compared to the double. With the spacers out is the single the same foot print as each double holder? Thanks

Those L shaped end brackets are only spacers. BCB
