Extra vent holes in fury?

I tried searching for numerous topics and cant locate. Can any of you add some pics to here that have added extra vent holes to your 26P fury prop. I remember a post on here that showed pretty detailed photos of where the holes are to be drilled. And if possible provide the distance from the PVS plug hole and the size of the added hole as ive read anywhere from 3/16th to 5/16th size drill bit. My next option is stepping down to a 25 fury, but i would like to try the added vent holes first. ThanksJason

If I can get your email Ill try to email a pict to you. Ive never had any luck posting picts. Its 3/4″ from PVS holes. 5/16 holes probably work the best. I drilled holes in a 25. I also had Ronnie Gilbert tune a 26 for me and the hole shot on the 26 is now better than the 25 with the extra holes

Forgive me for asking a potentially dumb question; what is the benefit of the extra hole?What boat are you running? Im see from the picture that you have the torque master II lower unit so I assume youre running a 250 Pro XS?I currently run a 2013 Puma FTD with a 26 Fury and or 27 Fury depending on load and water temp. Speed, lift, holeshot, stability no issues.Am I missing something?

All the extra holes do is put more exhaust around the blades for a better hole shot. In some cases they put too much and cause you to blow out. If that happens you have to add a plug to reduce exhaust.

I get the more more exhaust part, guess it all depends on your set up.

Yes, all im looking for is improved holeshot for tournament load with a partner, loaded fuel, and full livewells. Southern climates in south florida mixed with warm/humid weather takes a different approach then prefishing with empty wells, no co angler , and half full tanks and water less than 3 feet deep.

Hole shot was great until I added my adult son who is my tournament partner and full livewells. With the additional holes, it wasnt a night and day improvement but it was definitely better and they eliminated the motor lugging. 2013 Cougar AE, 250 ProXS, Gen 1 Torquemaster, manual plate, no power poles.Last edited by Macsimus on January 19th, 2016, 12:17 pm, edited 1 time in total.
