I have attached Pics today so you all can see what the front center storage boxes look like with my tackle boxes in my boat. Also, I have included the rear storage boxes behind the seats as well.Notice how I mix and match 3600 and 3700 boxes with my Stainless Steel Stringer System.Port Side Front Deck Center Lid Storage BoxStarboard Side Front Deck Center Storage Box Storage Box Pic from bow to aft including Net Scabbard. Both Lids Open to Front Deck Storage BoxPassenger Side Rear Storage Box and Driver Side Rear Storage Box
Thanks a bunch Flyswatter, You answered most of my questions about storage with those pictures. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Tom,It looks like you can get to both sides of the storage from either lid being opened, is this correct? Is the storage availability equal to the PIV you had?
Yes, just laid out differently. Maybe slightly more for the PIV. Slightly! After talking with Ivan I am keeping my bullet weight sinker boxes in the rear storage boxes for optimum weight displacement. The rear boxes have more room then you think.Yes you can get access to both sides.
Tom,Did you get tubes for both rod lockers or just one side? I have moved my heavier stuff to the center of the boat and keep the extra stuff in the back storage compartments. I dont carry a bunch of stuff with me, but its more then I need, like most people. I really like my Cougar FTD, but I think my next boat will be the Jaguar, I like the new looks of the Eyre, but ride is more important to me then speed.
You have lots of great BassCat options to consider for your next boat. I have tubes in the Eyra passenger side rod locker. None on the driver side rod locker. I have 3 Spinning outfits on driver side side rod lockers and 10 Baitcaster setups in the passenger side rod locker. I have my 711″ on the floor but it does fit easily in the tubes. Man, if you are considering the Jag. No brainer. What a ride that is.
Good pictures Tom!! Youre running light…but not Ivan light!!
Bill, I hate to see what medium or heavy is in your boat. I guess I am asking for it. I got a double stacker bullet weight plano 3700 (That box is heavy) in total 10-11 (mostly packed) 3700s in the rear. Pics dont do it justice. Also, two medium sized BassPro bags filled with plastics. Putting in more tonight. I think I am a bit heavier then light and adding more.. I just recounted my tackle boxes I have 19 tackle boxes in my boat from yesterday. However, I do have more plastics going and adding that now. My plans are to go out running early tomorrow with different prop (Fury 25p) vents plugged. This weekend Ill be putting on a 25 Tempest Plus. Now how light is Ivan light? You got my curiosity up. I guess Ivan might be laughing at all of us with our tackle stores in our boats.Last edited by Flyswatter on July 6th, 2010, 9:00 pm, edited 3 times in total.
Youve got more in your boat than I do. Ive got 9 3700s. Plus many bags of plastics, probably way too many. Ive been told that “Ivan light” is a bag of plastics and one rod. And youre right…Ivan will no doubt laugh at us with all the stuff we carry. I plan to take some stuff out of my boat, as I still have a bunch of stuff I took to Ky Lake with me back in May. When I take a trip of some distance, I tend to put a bunch of stuff back in. When I fish locally, I tend to not take much with me. In addtion to whats in the boat, Ive got 23 3700s on shelves in the garage and one of those large storage tubs full of plastics. Believe it or not…I had all of that in my 06 CougarFTD. Its no wonder it would only run 72mph. Sherm used to give me all kinds of crap about the stuff I used to carry with me.
2 – 3/4 jigs, 2 – 1/4 jigs, 4 worms, a pack of Yamamoto Hula Grubs, 3 – 3/16th ounce jig heads, two 3/0 hooks, two 1/8 ounce sinkers, three kicker tails, two spinning rods and two casting rods. 10 – 12 gallons of fuel with just enough to get home (3-5 gallons) in the other tank. Ivan light… BCB
