Is there a spec sheet on the Eyra? Im sure there is but Ill be dog gone if I can find it.Also do we have any results on the performance as compared to the Puma with say a Pro XS 250?Anyone run this boat in BIG water? Thanks,
I think if you “research” this forum and bbcboards you will find them. From what ive been told by guys who have driven the Eyra they are “shocked” that the boat glides over waves and is very fishable, remember this boat is not a “Go Fast Hull” its designed by fisherman for fisherman, yet will show its Tail to most out their, hell Flyswatter is posting speeds with a 200 SHO 73-75 that a 20 foot with a 250 from R or others cannot match, and thats incredible. Rick and Stewart really put alot of passion and love into this boat, the details that do not show up on our copmuters both in the design and class will be very evident in person. Id call Ivan at the factory next week, I know hes out of state now…..Sincerely, Brannon Worner
Your way ahead on many of your questions from where the boat is at this time. Since there are only limited ones out, the answers you ask are not there yet. Though we have never said it was to compete with a Puma and Cougar. Those rides are very nice on big water. The Eyra is a “bridge” boat and always will be. The range of horsepower and fuel mileage is very nice on the Eyra. The specs were posted on this site, and there is a ton of information on performance and fuel mileage. BCB
Here was the original post:The anticipation has been killing some folks to know the details on the Eyra weight and Specs. Several have asked on this site and the Facebook site so we have an answer. We have weighed about four of them and we have an average weight. All of those weighed are within 40 pound range of each other. Pretty consistent it seems and we are trimming the weights down in production now. High weights will average around 1750 on the boat alone and we probably will label the Eyra as 1675 so we are safe. You gotta get what you pay for, and expect! Horsepower: 175 to 285Length – 20 2″Beam – 94.5″Weight – 1700 Avg Fuel – 52 GallonsAndy Greene Greene Boat & Motor 828-286-2290 http://www.greeneboats.com
Thanks the responses from everyone, and I knew the “specs” had been listed, but I couldnt find them. Again, much appreciated…..Keith Reed,
Keith, I cant comment to the specifics of a 250 size motor but I can comment on the the ride and fishability of the Eyra Bassboat. The boat is extremely impressive. I am a 70 mile an hour guy so the 200 fits my needs perfectly. Yet, more surprises. The Eyras performance has exceeded my high expectations and can run up to 75 mph on the GPS in optimum conditions. I cant imagine what will be posted in cooler fall weather from experienced 250 HP Eyra owners. I predict its going to be jaw dropping!!! Back to my Eyra. I usually run around 73 plus with a 200HP, solo. I would expect about a two mph drop with a fishing partner. I run full tournament load with a 1/2 tank of gas. With the new BassCats I fish more efficiently carrying less gas because of BassCats computer style gauges. For example I can compute distance (which I have), relate that info to my mpg fuel flow gauge display and accurately estimate how much gas I need to have in my boat. For good measure I add a little extra just in case. This allows me to be more efficient with my boat load (weight). Now, I never exceed 20-30 gallons of a tank of gas for my style of fishing. No more wasteful full tank fill ups unless my fishing water requires it. I have all the relating data handy per BassCats computer gauges (this is available on all their new premium 2011 boats). This great technology combined the Eyras fuel efficient hull equals some the most advanced bass boating technology today. Heres is an example of BassCat Eyras dynamic hull. At 62.2 mph at approx. 5000 RPMs I am getting 4.5 mpg (as of today. My motor is loosening up)!!! Fishability is more impressive then I first thought. Tackle Storage: Initially, I didnt know if I liked the longer vertical tackle storage lids. I really like this design style better then my P4. This is a subjective comment but let explain why I like it better. I am more comfortable retrieving tackle boxes out of the storage compartments. I can sit on either side of my vertical door and retrieve my tackle. On my previous boat I was sitting and standing doing to many exercises for me. It works for me. This doesnt make my previous boat bad. I prefer the newer style and I am more comfortable on the water with the Eryas new design. This has really been thought out by BassCat.The deck size of the Eyra is surprisingly much bigger then you realize. Having the bow forward recessed footpedal makes all basscats fish a foot longer. Plenty of space up there for two people and a band except on Karaoke night. Check out my Eyras deck size pic.The boat ride is premium. It rides comfortably over waves and is as nimble on the water as a seadoo on steroids. However I do suggest getting a rear view mirror so you can see many of your friends facial expressions of shock and awe. Youll get big grin looking at their faces as you easily pull away being first to that early morning fishing hole. Just kidding on the rear view mirror. If you have additional questions you can PM and Ill be happy to answer any additional questions you may per my fishing enjoyment with the Eyra. As a rider in the Silver Eyra on the opening page of this website, they are very FAST, comfortable to fish out of, FAST, easy on fuel, FAST, more storage than the locker room at a high school gym, FAST, very sharp looking looking design, and oh yea VERY FAST!..
BucknBass, you forgot one very important feature. They are a blast to drive “FAST” too. Great post. That boat is the new official “Silver Bullet”.
Flyswatter,Appreciate the detailed info……I run an 07 Puma now and will be purchasing a new boat (hopefully) in 2011 and was considering the Eyra. It will more than likely come down to the Puma FTD or the Eyra. I am a bit of a “speed” guy but also need a comfortable Big water ride. Again thanks,Keith Reed
Keith,The Eyra is a bridge boat and would be a good option to consider. I really dont think you would be disappointed at all. You are in good shape because of the awesome options you have to choose from in the BassCat family. Since you know the boats you know what to look for. Youll have to decide ride vs. speed. Youll still get a great ride with the Eyra and the speed isnt bad on the Puma either. The the pluses and minuses comes down to personal preference. Man, many will be envious or your tough choice and would love to have your problems deciding. Congrats and Good luck!Last edited by Flyswatter on August 27th, 2010, 10:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.
