What kind of speed are they expecting out of the Eyra with a 250?
Right now we are pressing into the upper 70s with full fuel and no trick set ups. The Eyra is an extremely fuel efficient rig and dont forget we made this hull and from day one in the February introduction have labeled and termed it as a “Bridge Boat”. Here are some fuel comparisons from last night with a 26 Tempest, on a 250 Pro XS. The overall top end was not the best with the Tempest, though the fuel efficiency was and this is not quite full throttle. We will leave the overall top end comparisons for those once they have their hands on a few of these. This is in preparation for the upcoming dealer meeting and we are always conservative on our set ups for this. We dont try to wring it all out for dealers to drive. 7-30-10 6:30 pm – Bull Shoals Reservoir – Big Creek area – Jones PointLight winds up to a few MPH from the north west30mph @ 3230 RPM @ 6.1gph 30 mph @ 3130 RPM @ 5.6 gph > With the wind35 mph @ 3490 RPM @ 7.1 gph 35 mph @ 3380 RPM @ 7.0 gph> With the wind40 mph @ 4030 rpm @ 8.6 gph 40.5 mph @ 3930 @ 8.2 gph > With the wind40.0 mph @ 3820 @ 7.8 -7.9 gph > With the Wind45 mph @ 4350 @ 9.7 gph 45 mph @ 4220 @ 9.1 gph > With the wind50 mph @ 4520 &10.0 to 10.3 gph > With the wind50 mph @ 4480 @ 11.3 gph 55 @ 4680 @ 10.8 gph > With the wind55 @ 4730 @ 11.5 gph 59.8-60.2 @ 4900@11.2 > With the wind60.2 @ 5010 @ 12.8 gph 65.3. @ 5230 @12.9 gph > With the wind65 @ 5500 @ 13.2 gph 70.2 @5590@ 15.2 > With the wind70 @ 5640 @ 15.8 gph 75 @ 5780 @ 18.3 gph > With the wind75.3 @ 5880 @ 18.5 gph > With the wind74.8 to 75.2 @ 5910 @ 19.7 gph Last edited by bassCat1971 on August 1st, 2010, 5:33 am, edited 1 time in total.

Here are the latest numbers on an Eyra with a 250 SHO VMax. The set up is not exactly on track and there is some left in this one. Though it does give a comparison. The fuel GPH numbers on this rig are not a comparable to the Mercury Pro XS as the set up was off and bite was not significant. We were not pleased with the outcome of this, though we put it up as a reference. There is a bit more fuel burn on the SHO, though not as much as this recorded. We will have the 200 comparison to go up on the SHO and post it below. We do not have a comparison on the 200 Mercury yet. Wow, the Pro Xs beats the SHO by around 2 gph at 60 and 70 mph? That counters the money saved by burning oil big time.Reading it closer, it looks like the Merc beats it on fuel economy across the board, that blows me away! I figured at cruising speeds the 4 stroke would win by a considerable amount.Last edited by Bassgod on August 3rd, 2010, 1:41 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I figured at cruising speeds the 4 stroke would win by a considerable amount. At 61-63 mph, approx. 5000 RPMs I am gettting 4.3 mpg on my 200SHO and Eyra. Thats the display off my Command Link Gauges fuel flow gauges. At WOT at 72-75 mph on my GPS My gauges read 3.8 to 3.9 mpg Fuel Flow Display. Again, numbers are from my Command Link Gauges. These are my numbers from my 200 VmaxSHO on my Eyra with optimum boat setup with 25p Fury prop at 2 1/8 to 2 3/8s below pad and 17-18 WPSI. I have not taken head wind into measure but for sure NO current helping or distorting my numbers. I have exhausted a good bit of time to this. Also, 14 rods, 14 3700 tackle boxes, tool boxes, clothing, 15lb of plastics and going solo.I hope this does not digress to motor wars. I know BassCat doesnt like to see the posts go in that direction. If the ProXS is getting much better performance then I tip my cap to you. We all are BassCat bros!
GPH is great and all but I thought he asked about WOT! I thought this was supposed to be a 85mph boat? At 57-5900 doesnt seem to be a lot of room to gain 10mph. What am I missing? I know BassCat never said how fast it would go,so maybe I got caught up in the hype.Last edited by Traybird.basscatowners on August 3rd, 2010, 8:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.
