Guys Im having a hard time choosing between a Puma FTD or Eyra. Need your guys opinion and help me choose a boat. Thank you
Just how big a boy are ya ?!?
6″4 250
They are both good boats. Everybody has their own opinions. I like the puma ftd best . I like the cougar ftd the most out of the 3. Little more front deck space on the cougar. Rides same as puma ftd. Both seam to be alittle more stable fishing platform than the eyra.
Just a joke. Eyra cockpit will probably be tight. Its quicker, a little faster, drives a little sportier (turns, etc). Puma to me a better ride and the cockpit is roomier. Both will run like hell in the hands of a qualified driver ……. it came down to layout for me and I like the Puma FTD better. DRIVE THEM BOTH Before you make a decision as they are both fine boats but each has its on little niche things about them.

Wow, I am a 2x Eyra owner that came out of a Puma. Heres my 2 cents. Ride: puma is actually faster, and has little better hole shot / Eyra sportier feeling, and to me more security b/c you sit lower in boat. To me Eyra more stable running in a chop little side to side rocking that I experienced in my puma, and definetly better in rough water. Small windshield works much better on Eyra . My Eyra is very temperamental when it comes to shifting weight if you move tackle around it effects the feel and performance of the ride. Fishing Platform: Eyra feels wider and longer when in actuality its not. I like the coffin style lids, however I do miss the net storage set up in Puma. I also miss the big step cooler in Puma my Eyra cooler is pretty small. The center step glove box in Puma is also larger. I believe the openings to back compartment on Eyra are larger but storage space is same size. Compared to FTD. I love the incorporated bow light on the Eyra. Storage space seems to be equal. My co anglers occasionally complain about the 4 hinges instead of 2 on Puma back lids. ( I just tell me go by your own boat then you can fish up front haha. Im 6,4 was 250 now Im 216 I fit behind wheel fine, leg room for non hot foot side isnt as roomy. I sometimes felt like I was really reaching to secure that leg in the puma. But I do miss it in smooth water and long runs. I think they are both great boat Eyra a little more eye appealing. I think you will be happy with either choice feel free to IM me and Ill get in touch with you.
Ditto, All the guys above have great insight on both models. You have some very good info!! I agree with everything said and have had both boats and yes the eyra is a bit quicker and the puma is a bit more stable. Ride and Decide.
Thank you for the info. The boat will spend a lot of time on lake mead and Mohave so witch one do you think is the best in rough water?
Puma or Cougar I think will cut the wind and waves better also wont get blown around as much . Basically a bit heavier boat.
