Another Falcon Lake report. This was so-so. The wind blew like no ones business for the two days we fished, but made the 102 heat index bearable. Fishing on Saturday was actually pretty good considering 81 degree water. Caught a bunch of dinks, but topped my stringer with 8.59. That chunk came on an XD6 – the only one I had in that color, and it ENGULFED it. That bait was never ran true again! The crankbait was actually caught in her gills. I had SO much blood in the boat, you would thought foul play! I had to pump the water out of the livewell twice, before I stopped seeing blood. All-in-all, she swam away at the end of the day. 23 pounds won our tourney on day 1. On day two – three fish for 6.51 won!!! What difference a day makes! Falcon is turning around, albeit still 30 some feet low, it has caught some new water. As always, the PIV ran fine, no issues on the water, did cost $350 bucks for 2 tires before I left!!!! Damn, 20″ tires! I digress, here are pics of the fish.
