The only options you have are to sand and polish the fenders, then wax them. Or to spray a clear coat in a form of paint over the finish and it will sort of bring it back out, just 180 sand and cover it.
I have done quite a few as they state and it works. Sand with 180 and put a high quality automotive clear over it . You can wet sand and buff and by some time though unless its too far gone.
Might as well use the 3M 5200 adhesive because if the urethane attaches properly you will tear up the fender trying to remove it anyway.Tommy YettsRockwall Marine
I have had to replace my fender after some A- hat ran into it! And mine were on SOLID!! The fenders are glued to metal braces and bolted on the side x2 to the frame
Thanks for your input and replies. I went back with the 3M 5200 and left it clamped for 72 hrs. Its solid as a rock now but who knows in two years. I really like the look of the clean fender with no bolts in it. Hope I made the right decision and never need to remove these fenders as the 5200 is quite “permanent”, as long as it bonded well.
The last few/several years we have gone to a threaded C clamp and keeping them tight 24 hours with great success. Before we used some vice clamps and Stanley pressure clamps which just didnt hold tight enough.
If you ever need to remove them, a propane torch heating the metal from below, and some un-coated seven strand leader material tied to two dowels will get them off.
