Floated into a bouy yesterday on the Mississippi river in my Sabre. At least better than running into it under power! It pulled about 8 inchs of the rub rail loose–not a big problem. It also hit the bottom of my hull in the lower right corner. It knocked a piece of the gellcoat off all the way to the fiberglass. It is about the size of a half dollar and right in the corner. Can I repair this myself (white hull) or take to a fiberglass shop? If DIY should I use marine tex or white gelcoat?
