fiberglass repair in the bilge

i just removed the shoot through in the bilge a few inches infront of my drain, and it took a few fibers with it too. im assuming youre not installing new ones? if you are, then the epoxy you put down should take care of it. otherwise, a small amount of glass resin should reseal the area. dont know your year and model, but if you are installing a new shoot through, be very careful how far down you grind the glass. found out the hard way on mine that there is no wood core in the pad of my boat

How thick is the layer you stripped off that has you concerned? Then we can be more educated in the course of action.

i used marine tex and seemed to work just fine
