Topic: Fiberglass step box storage ideas

Can you guys give me some ideas of ways to utilize the fiberglass step box other than storing a throw cushion. I have thought about mounting a bump board inside, it would be nice to cut a slot out of the front and mount the bump board sleeve inside on the bottom but I do not know where to get a trim to cover the cutout. All ideas appreciated.

My bump board came with a plastic sleeve that is as long as it. I took some 3M double side tape and stuck it on the side of the box between the the box and my driver seat(parallel). Need a long sleeve so it doesnt tear the vinyl. Works great and is right by the wells. Plus you dont have to cut a slot.

Although, the current carpeted step box/ glove box is serviceable I think a step box/glove box finished out with gel finish matching the cap with a rubber or sand paper patch on the top would be optimum in appearance. Wonder if BassCat will ever consider this.?

Fly,I have a 2008 Puma and it has a fiberglass step box color matched with the rubber pad on it. It must have been an option at one time.I use mine to store a Plano box with the most common soft plastics I use in a given day I also store my cull tags there as well.Mike

It would be great to eventually see that box morphed into the functional design like the carpeted glove box. Of course my desire may not be that popular. Does the sleeve rub the seats when you lift the box up? I was thinking about taping a bump board to the inside of the box so you would have to flip up the box to pull out the bump board. Keep the ideas coming.
