About 6 months ago, I started a thread entitled “Bass Cat Challenge,” you can read the entire thread here if you’d like. I set out to lose 75 lbs. Long story short, I’m about 8 lbs. from that goal and there is no doubt that I will meet and exceed it here shortly. The reason I am now an owner prior to my goal is simply a function of financials and the fact it’s really hard to find a used Bass Cat, especially when you’re specific in your wants/needs, so when I found the boat I had to move on it.I ended up purchasing a 2012 Margay, from “BCBVandy,” Rick, here on the forums. First off, let me express my sincere gratitude to Rick on the transparency, communication, and his flexibility with regards to our deal. A major driving factor with this purchase for me was storage space, my options really were the Margay or the Sabre. This Margay is in exceptional shape, actually, it’s practically new! It still has 1 ˝ years of BCB warranty, and the Mercury ProXS 150hp motor is under warranty until 2020! Talk about feeling comfortable with a used boat!I’m probably over doing it, or maybe doing it right, for a first boat. I’m excited to get it out on the water!
