As I shared here a few weeks ago to get advice, I blew the vault hub out on my 2011 Sabre FTD single axle 3 weeks ago on my way to my weekly Wednesday evening tournament. Luckily, I was right next to a marina when I noticed it. Unluckily, they were not at all familar with Vault hubs. I should have just ordered two new end units right away, and I would have been back on the water much quicker, but it was my first time dealing with it so I made some newbie mistakes. Initially they were going to rebuild the hub, it took them a week to get the parts and get around to it. When they tore it apart, there was another part that was chewed up. So at that point I told them to forget about rebuilding and Id just order the entire end unit from BCB and bring it in. While I was waiting on that, I decided to go ahead and order a new end unit for the other side, so I wouldnt have to worry about it for another 5 years. Of course in the meantime, I got bumped out of my place in line, and they had a couple other jobs before me. So after being told theyd get to it first thing Monday morning, and then that it would be ready by noon on Tuesday, I finally was able to get it at 5pm yesterday. I was going to swap out the second end unit myself, but decided to just let them do it, so theyd bleed the brakes and save me some time. Finally, my boat sat on their lot for 3 weeks, off of a charger. For kicks I checked my batteries when I got home and they were still reading 12.39 before I hooked them up to charge, that was a nice surprise as Ive been thinking that I might need to swap out my trolling batteries as theyre coming up on 3 years in the boat. Looks like I can put that expense off for awhile. Two quick questions…I touched my rims when I got home and they seemed hot, am I being paranoid, or are they likely just heated up from the new brakes? My brakes havent been working for awhile, so Im hoping I just not used to braking temperature rims. Its about 5-7 miles from my place to the marina in small city traffic…so a bit stop and go.They didnt leave any paperwork for the Vault end units in the box that contained my old end units. How do I go about registering my warranty?2011 Sabre FTD w/ Mercury 150 Pro XS, Power Pole Sportsman 2s, Humminbird 898 w/ 360 and 858 at bow, 898 at ConsoleFor lots of BCB love, follow me on instagram: @professorbeard
