Finally!! The boat is running like a top, my gear is packed, batteries charged, brand new axles, bearings and hubs Im ready to head south to Missouri Stockton lake to be exact. I have had a heck of a time with my once neglected boat, it had frustrated me and almost made me broke, but I have put thousands of dollars and many many hours into it and I finally get to enjoy it. I know Stockton lake well and the guys in my club are nervous because I can run the lake now without worrying about breaking down and they know Im a mean stick on that lake especially with a reliable boat! A big shout out to all of you guys that have given advice to me throughtout the process of bringing my old Eyra back to life it has been a ride no doubt but I would do it again, BassCat boats are badass and Im proud to be part of the family even tho my boat is 21 yrs old Bass Cat the actual company has helped me tremendously thorught this process as well as being patient with a guy who will probably never be able to afford a brand new boat but regardless I dont see myself in any other brand of boat. I truly believe as long as I can buy a used Bass Cat I will be in one, I also believe Bass Cat is the only manufacturer who realizes that because I cant afford to buy a new one it doesnt mean their customer service will ever be any less because of it. Thanks again all,Kip
Congrats Man! Good Luck! Enjoy!!Dan
We dont know about other manufacturers on used boat service, however we do know that is a major focus here. They had a meeting yesterday with a vendor trying to reduce waiting list backorder times on parts orders for older boats. They think as much of a 1995 model as a 2015 model on retail parts sales. They are all on the same platform. Thanks for the support!
What an awesome weekend! trailer had no issues, new to me tahoe pulled like a champ and the boat ran great! I got to put my version 1 Eyra to the test, Sunday we had 20 mph winds with gust into the 40s the main lake looked like an ocean and Im not gonna lie I was nervous as hell to go out into it with my 1711″ boat… I had little experience running in water like that I just kept it trimmed down and pointed towards my spot and let the boat do the work. The deeper hull kept us dry and feeling safe I maintained a steady 20 to 30 mph. Just enough to keep it on plane. My buddy in a 19 stratos speared a wave and got really wet and a really sore back he was behind me on the way back and couldnt believe that we stayed dry, he said my boat was just cutting the waves while his was bouncing on them. We might soon have a new addition to the BCB family hes looking around at used cats now. Besides that the fishing was good, caught a ton of fish and ended up in 4th place for the club tourney I just couldnt get that kicker fish I needed…. I found a big female on the beds, got her to bite once but she grabbed the tail of my finesse worm but no hook, she spooked after that and I ran out of time. regardless it was an awesome weekend and the boat performed flawlessly also had the guys in the club scratching their heads that my 175 HP powered boat walked by their 200 HP champions. I caught the blackest smallmouth I have ever seen in person which was cool. Also caught a TEN pounder but it was the wrong species….. Snapping turtle.I included a few pics and I will upload a couple videos the most impressive one being the run in the rollers.http://s1119.photobucket.com/user/chick … e.jpg.html][/URL]http://s1119.photobucket.com/user/chick … 7.jpg.html][/URL]http://s1119.photobucket.com/user/chick … 5.jpg.html][/URL]
first one is just cruising around 60 MPH nice smooth ride. Second one not so smooth but DRY and SAFE! The wind picked up more as the day went on but I couldnt drive the boat and film.
Glad to see another old schooler on the water! Unbelievable big water capability96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
