Ive had my pII for about two months now and have been told I need a differnt prop. Well now I have a 13.5×25 renagade. Where do I need to set the jp to run properly? Right now prop shaft to pad is 4.5 inches.
Which engine and year model? Memory is not serving us well tonight.
1992 pII with a 200hp erude. 6″ powerlift manual jp. Right now outer plate is 1 1/4 inches above the inner . Prop to pad is about 4.5 inches.
I took boat out today and have mixed feeling about performance. The middle to top is awsome. cruising speed 40-50 mph was good handled great turned easy.Top end was 71-72 at 5800 rpms with 12 psi water pressure. HOLE SHOT SUCKS!!! It takes to the count of about 8 or 9 to come over 3000 rpms. I also noticed the inside of prop is black. I raised the jp up to 3 3/4 inches prop to pad. Where should I go to get my hole shot back. Compression is at 120-125 on all 6. Motor starts and runs exclent.
The weed ring and ventilation is the topic you need to work on there. The engine sounds too high for safe operation. A 200 in more forgiving than the faster rigs, though this set up should still have almost no steering torque on top end, and you do at this setting. The Renegade we do like on most of these rigs. The original Shooter is also a nice set up. BCB
I have all but given up on having a 70mph boat. What should I do now I have gotten the one of the props that was suggested. I cant seem to find any of the others. What will it take for me to run this renegade? And how much speed and hole shot will I sacrifice running from empty to loaded?

We are not ready to suggest you need engine work. The best example is in the propeller torque, is there any hard steering? If so lower the engine.
I must be checking prop wrong. I talked to brannon and he said to raise motor up an inch.So I took to lake and run boat at current jp setting and water pressure dropped down to 8psi in the turns so I didnt adjust it. Ive been told by a local dealer of r boats that when water pressure drops the motor is to high. Still wouldnt come out of hole very good with renegade so I put my 21p cabelas back on and runs as good as ever. Amazing hole shot with 62mph on top fully loaded. The way Im checking it the prop shaft is 4″ below pad. Im putting a level on the deck and on the cavitation plate on the motor and measuring the difference between the ground and boat which is 13.5 inches then Im measuring to center point of the shaft which is 9.5. What Im I doing wrong? There is little to no torque on steering wheel. It is actually a very comfortable boat to ride and drive. Any suggestions? Sorry so long but thanks in advance.
First ask any individual issuing advice if they have personally ran this particular year model of boat and engine. If not how can they form advice for you? Please do not raise any engine 1″. We have run all of the boat models and those engines. We have readily suggested that you lower your engine, look into your propeller and figure out more about this rig before you go tweaking. Here is our post above again. “The weed ring and ventilation is the topic you need to work on there. The engine sounds too high for safe operation.
