Hey guys I am swapping out my motor guide trolling motor from tour edition to X5 I will have to drill new holes for the foot pedal whats the best stuff to fill old holes and find a counter sink bit Last edited by basscatpuma3 on March 10th, 2017, 5:22 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Ive always used 3M 5200 Marine Sealant, great stuff.Not sure I understand the finishing hole bit…

I saw a video and the guy used this bit after he drilled the hole to prevent cracking.

MarineTec is the product we would use which is an Epoxy. Sorry if the spelling is not right.

West Marine carries Marine tex also.

As far as a Finishing bit, You can take a larger drill bit and run your drill in reverse with light pressure. All you are doing is trying to make a taper on the top gel coat. This prevents stress cracking. Personally, I would put silicone in the old holes.
